Low Housing Inventory is a Sweet Spot for Sellers Today in Washington

There’s no secret that today’s housing levels are still far below the “normal years” and what we just experienced through the “unicorn years” of the pandemic. What does that mean? If you’re considering selling your house, this is great news for you!

Even with the recent uptick of homes on the market, the average inventory was 50.6% below the pre-pandemic levels we saw in 2017-2019.

Buyer demand is at its peak. Buyers are looking for homes and having to consider homes and areas that they might not have otherwise looked at purely because the inventory of homes is not there. What does this mean for sellers? It’s a great time to list!

Homes are moving quickly, and we’re seeing multiple offers on most homes that are priced right. Nearly 74% of homes listed sell within less than one month, with the median number of days on the market now sitting near 18 days. The average number of offers is now at 3.3! In June, 39% of Seattle Eastside homes sold above the list price.

If you’re considering selling your home, the lack of competition and number of buyers in the market right now creates a great opportunity for you! Homes are selling quickly, with multiple offers, and for top dollar. If you want to sell your house, let’s connect to chat about starting the process!
