Hey foodie friends!
Welcome to the end of Summer, beginning of Fall, foodie corner! Gardens seem bountiful and in an ever-rotating game of popping out an abundance of fresh veggies! The tomatoes, zucchini, artichokes, kale, all of the delicious veggies are just screaming to be incorporated into beautiful dishes to share with friends and family.
Life this year has been so different with COVID. Restaurants closed or modified schedules, eating in public changed, and socializing changed across the board. To me, it’s made eating a whole new experience and thing to enjoy. Cooking has been a more recurring thing than it was before. Enjoying intimate meals with loved ones has become a special and treasured event. All of these things are just pointing to our shared meals being even more meaningful!
I think that Cesar Chavez said it best when he said, “If you really want to make a friend, go to someone’s house and eat with him…the people who give you their food give you their heart.” They don’t say that food is the way to the heart for no reason! It’s a labor of love and opportunity to share your tastes, passion, and soul with those you serve. It’s also really therapeutic and fun to spend some time in the kitchen with family and friends!
All of that said…it’s all led to me branching out more with cooking and use whatever I can from local gardens and markets. And the result–some darn good cooking and food! Okay, enough about all of that. Let’s get to the good stuff, the recipes!
